Satyarth Prakash was written by Swami Dayanand Saraswati, founder of the Arya Samaj. The work advocates a return to what Dayanand regarded as the original teachings of the Vedas and discusses religion, society, education and reform. It became a highly influential text in nineteenth-century reform movements in northern India.
