Decreased production/secretion of antidiuretic hormone
B
Decreased production/secretion of parathyroid hormone
C
Decreased production/secretion of insulin
D
Decreased production/secretion of thyroid hormone
Correct Option:
A
Explanation
Central diabetes insipidus results from reduced production or secretion of antidiuretic hormone, also called vasopressin. ADH normally increases water reabsorption in the kidney collecting ducts. Its deficiency causes excessive dilute urine and marked thirst. In nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, ADH may be present, but the kidneys do not respond properly to it.
