The Third Battle of Panipat was fought on 14 January 1761 between the Maratha forces and the army of Ahmad Shah Abdali, also called Ahmad Shah Durrani. It ended in a devastating Maratha defeat. Remember the three Panipat dates as 1526, 1556 and 1761.
